The mission of Downers Grove High School District 99 is to provide a caring and challenging environment where all students develop as lifelong learners to become contributing, responsible members of a changing world. The National Award for Excellence bestowed on both Downers Grove North and Downers Grove South high schools by the U.S. Department of Education is evidence that educational excellence is taken very seriously.

The nearly 5500 students of District 99 benefit from a complete curriculum of academic and vocational courses including honors classes and some courses which can earn the student college credits. Interscholastic sports programs, dozens of clubs, and intramural programs round out the educational experiences at our public high schools.

The foundation for this high school excellence is built among the ten elementary and two middle schools of District 58, and the schools of District 61. The mission of District 58 is to challenge each child by providing quality educational programs and support services in safe, nurturing environments in order to prepare all students to be lifelong learners and contributing members of society.
